Maryland Man, 90, Killed After Car Goes Airborne, Gets Hit By Another Driver: Police

An elderly Baltimore man is dead after a collision involving an airborne vehicle, authorities say.

Earl Cleaveland Phillips, 90, was traveling down the exit ramp from I-195 to North Hammonds Ferry Road when he failed to stop at the red light around 1 p.m., Monday, July 25, according to Baltimore police.

Phillips' vehicle jumped the concrete median and continued through the light into the intersection when a northbound Mercedes-Benz driven by Kathryn Lee Morgan, 55, struck him, officials said.

Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel. The other driver was not injured.
